The Plainsmen soon morphed into “The New Beginning” after Baker quit and they added Steve’s wife Linda on vocals. They considered themselves to be a “club” band, which seemed cool, and they travelled all around Iowa for a while being booked by GMA – The Good Music Agency out of Minneapolis
